OPEN SYLLABLES 👏🏻: We learned about OPEN syllables in kindergarten and went on an open syllable hunt in our text after our chant! My kindergarteners came back from winter break and I noticed that a few students were slow to produce the short a sound. I made them these sound drills, segmenting, blending + decodable p****ages and after a few days…✨! They needed just a few days of targeted intervention and… POOF ! They are masters.
