⁣A ratio is an ordered pair of numbers a and b, written a / b where b does not equal 0. A proportion is an equation in which two ratios are set equal to each other. For example, if there is 1 boy and 3 girls you could write the ratio as: 1 : 3 (for every one boy there are 3 girls)

⁣On Earth, all matter exists in one of three main states: solid, liquid or gas. A solid can hold its shape (for example, water in solid form is ice). A liquid like water forms a pool: it flows or runs but it can't be stretched or squeezed.

Biolab is a short educational DVD aimed at GCSE Biology students in the UK. We learn about one of the three main types of pathogen, the virus, and the immune system's response to it.<br />

The DVD formed part of my final year project for my degree in digital animation at the University of Greenwich, and it features particle systems and small-scale crowd simulations to depict the behaviour of cells and virus particles. It was created in 3ds Max and rendered with mental ray.<br />
