My kindergarteners came back from winter break and I noticed that a few students were slow to produce the short a sound. I made them these sound drills, segmenting, blending + decodable p****ages and after a few days…✨! They needed just a few days of targeted intervention and… POOF ! They are masters.

👏🏻I’m living the long vowel life in kindergarten right now. How do these kids walk in barely knowing their letter sounds and now they’re reading long vowels in connected text!?
