⁣Force is defined as a push or pull acting on an object. Forces include gravity, friction, and applied force. Force causes changes in the speed or direction of motion. These changes are called acceleration.

⁣A figure of speech is a creative use of language to generate an effect. Some figures of speech, like metaphor, simile, and metonymy, are found in everyday language. Others, like antithesis, circumlocution, and puns take more practice to implement in writing.

⁣An adverb describes or modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb, but never a noun. It usually answers the questions of when, where, how, why, under what conditions, or to what degree. Adverbs often end in -ly.

020 - Ionic Bonding

In this video Paul Andersen explains how ionic solids form when cations and anions are attracted. When atoms lose or gain electrons they form ions. The strength of the attraction between ions is based on the amount of charge and the distance between the ions.
