✨ Every Monday we have a short vowel review (sounds, actions, and word practice). This has to be SOLID before kids can decode. They stand and act out there vowel sounds with me and we read words that they will see in their decodable text that day. I love them so much! My kindergarteners came back from winter break and I noticed that a few students were slow to produce the short a sound. I made them these sound drills, segmenting, blending + decodable p****ages and after a few days…✨! They needed just a few days of targeted intervention and… POOF ! They are masters.
