⁣There are four main parts to the water cycle: Evaporation, Convection, Precipitation and Collection. Evaporation is when the sun heats up water in rivers or lakes or the ocean and turns it into vapour or steam. The water vapour or steam leaves the river, lake or ocean and goes into the air.

⁣The functioning of the water cycle involves a change in energy which leads to a difference in temperature. The carbon cycle is a biogeochemical cycle that facilitates the exchange of carbon through the different compartments of earth. Carbon is the backbone of all biological compounds and many minerals like limestone. ⁣The terrestrial carbon and water cycles are strongly coupled. As atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration increases, climate and the coupled hydrologic cycle are modified, thus altering the terrestrial water cycle and the availability of soil moisture necessary for plants' carbon dioxide uptake.

⁣Plant cells have a cell wall in addition to a cell membrane, whereas animal cells have only a cell membrane. Plants use cell walls to provide structure to the plant. Plant cells contain organelles called chloroplasts, while animal cells do not.

Biolab is a short educational DVD aimed at GCSE Biology students in the UK. We learn about one of the three main types of pathogen, the virus, and the immune system's response to it.<br />

The DVD formed part of my final year project for my degree in digital animation at the University of Greenwich, and it features particle systems and small-scale crowd simulations to depict the behaviour of cells and virus particles. It was created in 3ds Max and rendered with mental ray.<br />

The excretory system removes waste and toxins from the human body.
Your skin eliminates waste by sweating.
Your lungs eliminate carbon dioxide.
Your kidneys filter over 180 liters of blood in order to produce urine.
The kidneys filter waste like urea. This liquid that is collected is called urine.
Your kidneys are made up of millions of filtering units called nephrons.

An adverb is a modifier that provides more information about a verb, adjective, clause, or other adverb. Adverbs can act as conjunctions or describe frequency, time, place, manner, or quality.

⁣A genetically modified organism (GMO) is an animal, plant, or microbe whose DNA has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. For thousands of years, humans have used breeding methods to modify organisms. Corn, cattle, and even dogs have been selectively bred over generations to have certain desired traits.

⁣Subject and Predicate. Every complete sentence contains two parts: a subject and a predicate. The subject is what (or whom) the sentence is about, while the predicate tells something about the subject.
